Bus Buddy Program

bus20buddy20logo1

Welcome aboard Shoreline Metro!  Taking the bus is a fun, relaxing and easy way to get around town.  Whether it’s to work or school, shopping or commuting, taking the bus is a great way to get to your destinations.

Learning to ride the bus is fun and easy with the help of an experienced Shoreline Metro “Bus Buddy”.  Our “Bus Buddy” program pairs you up with a knowledgeable, experienced user of the bus or staff member which makes learning simple and easy!

The “Bus Buddy” program is a complimentary service to our passengers.  Scheduling a “Bus Buddy” is free and only takes a couple minutes!  Begin by downloading our handy Bus Buddy pamphlet and an Initial Assessment form.  The form will help us set up a customized training experience especially for you!

About the Program...

What is a Bus Buddy?
An experienced travel companion, user or staff member of Shoreline Metro.  We match each new rider with a Bus Buddy to help them become comfortable and knowledgeable with using the bus.

Who can request a Bus Buddy?
Anyone interested in becoming more comfortable and familiar with using the bus.

Is there a fee for a Bus Buddy?
There is no charge for the Bus Buddy program.  All Bus Buddies are experienced users or staff members of Shoreline Metro and are complementary to our customers.

When do Bus Buddies ride?
A Bus Buddy is available during all regular service hours.  We ask that you schedule a Bus Buddy with us at least 48 hours in advance.

What can I learn from a Bus Buddy?
A Bus Buddy is knowledgeable with routes, times, fares and policies.  A Bus Buddy will teach you how to:
     • read bus maps and schedules
     • plan your trip and ride your routes
     • pay fares and purchase passes
     • prepare for the “what ifs” of bus riding
     • “dos” and “don’ts” of riding the bus
     • ride the bus with confidence

Best of all…it’s customized to meet your needs!
